About me
Mekih Kripll is a DJ, singer-songwriter and record producer.Mekih Kripll rose to prominence in 2007 following the release of his single "meki biskvit,tvrdi preljev" from his debut EP "Muzika za radit kolače".His second EP, "Muzika za farbat jaja" earned him even more recognition and critical praise. He is the co-founder of record label "Kripllket Direkt™"."Crijeva 3000", "DistortionBe@tz" and "Kripllab" established him as a forerunner of experimental music.His preference to create new sounds on every new recording, combined with his arranging abilities and the studio expertise results in the innovative sounds of the albums.
Mekih continues to absorb influences long after his initial success, often finding new musical avenues by listening to his contemporaries.
He is well known for his experimental approach to creating music and unique album cover art done by his old friend and protege Que Stion.
Mekih Kripll began writing and recording tracks in his home studio at early age.
Mekih and Que Stion recorded their first EP, "Žulj na koljenu" at the age of twelve.
Later in the middle of crack epidemic he recorded unknown number of tracks also named "Žulj na koljenu" in colaboration with Que Stion and Shinobi.Majority of material from that period has been lost due to Mekih crack addiction and self-destructive behavior.Today these rare recording are considered highly valuable among collectors because of their musical excellence and historical value.Mekih struggled with drug addiction for much of his career, especially crack; he began using drugs during "Žulj na koljenu" period, and continued to use for the majority of his life.Local newspaper "Naša Kostrena" reported in November 2008 that much of Mekih Kripll purported hardcore criminal history has been dramatically embellished. In particular, Mekih claims that he was target of unsuccesful drive-by and his claim to have spent time in prison were challenged with police records and interviews with detectives involved in Mekih case.
According to police records Mekih and "Kripllket Direkt™" management fabricated his drive-by story in order to change his softcore image of bookstore employee.Mekih has only been convicted of a single felony, that of indecent exsposure in front of a underage girl. He received 2 years probation after pleading guilty.Mekih sticks to his side of the story and claims that police and his enemies would like to see him dead, but he is here to stay.
